VIEW OVER BELLVALLEY

Our Kennel name BELLVALLEY became established in 2000 and is derived from the name Cwmcloch, which is the English translation of our farm.
We live in the heart of Carmarthenshire, on our family run farm, with milking cows,a flock of pedigree sheep and the odd pony or 2 or 3 !!,4 being American Quarter horses,
and not forgetting our beloved dogs.
Thankfully our two sons enjoy life on the farm, like most working family farms the kids have a big part to play in helping out with a our extended family.
We have been showing dogs for about 10 yrs. Having shown ponies as a child, I love the excitment of breeding and getting the animals fit and trained for the show ring. Now Gareth (our son) has got the show bug !.So animals are well and truly a big part of our lives.
If we are not at a dog show you may well see us showing my parents British Blonde cows, or the Cwmcloch flock of Blue face Leicester's.
My Husband Viv also enjoys sheepdog trials and competes at local level with our farm collies, which can be fun to watch.
Gareth started showing dogs at the age of six and has gone on to have some great times showing Dil (Kaniboo Golden Knight of Bellvalley sh CM) his much loved Cocker Spaniel dog, a very good 5th at Crufts, also going on to get his stud book number and later in the year Gareth and Dil got all the points to qualify Dil for the show dog of Merit with the Kennel Club, Not bad for a boy and his best mate Dil.

OUR FARM
Enjoy looking around our Farm and also the photos of the farm animals.

This is the Blueface Leicester sheep which we bred to sale
as breeding stock to farmers all over the UK.

We do all are own harvest work easy and enjoyable work, if the weather is good .
tea time
We are so lucky in that we have so much open space to ride the horses and take the dogs out, most of the time together , with a stream running near our farm its a good place to stop for a cool off.

We milk about 65 friesian cows. The girls can be with us for 12 or more years, Most modern units the average is 3 to 4yrs.
The girls have a quiet and steady life with us, treated as individuals and look after as such.
At 5.30am you will see them slowly starting to walk down from the fields in there own good time for milking. Its nice to look out of the bedroom window and see them coming over the hill on there way down to the parlour for the milking, the 1st job of the day .
Because the girls our quiet happy to meet us in the parlour, we can have 10 mins more before we start the day !!.

Ram lambs which will be going to the sales.

Tim the collie dog
he's the 3rd generation
to be working for us
worth his weigh in gold.

This is Cap a bitch thats is just
starting to come to work the stock.

And last but not least, Meet Babble the
saddleback sow. And we love her to bits.....
she just so much fun.
