LUCY

Lucy has had a very pretty bay filly foal.

Very pleased with this foal she is by
Warralee Mr Montana
she was born on May the 15th 2010 the date on the photos is wrong!

Ain't she pretty..... and she is sure to go a rich
bay. The next few photos taken when
she was a couple of days old.

Rhys and Jessie
Rhys soothing Jessie after having the scary foal slip put on for the 1st time

Who is soothing who I don't know
but both look chilled.

Jessie meeting Rhia

Then it time to take them back to the field
and Jessie can sure strut her stuff.

Jessie just over 4 weeks old and
looking.....good, very pleased with her
we bring her in a couple of days a week
to handle her and put the foal slip on
as I would have night mares if I left it on in the field.

She as to get used to all the dogs coming to greet her, as we always have 2 or 3 with us.
But as you see from the next photo it don't mean she cannot have a little fun with them!

Lucy was kept empty this yr 2009
so we have enjoyed getting her back into
a little work around the farm.

March 2009 just letting her have a walk
around with the saddle on
as it's been 2 yr the last
time I rode her with tack on
but lots
of times we have jump on her bareback with a foal at foot
with no problems at all.

And we're off with no problem at all,
she is a good mare for a old timer like me!!

Chill time for her.

I'm trying to get Gareth to take a photo
of Lucy not one of my kids favourite jobs
as they say I moan (NEVER!!)
And yes the tractor is going.

Well.....YES lovely one Gareth!
missed me out so it can be all bad LOL

Bringing the last of the milking
cows home for milking
quite early in the morning
and a bit on the cold side to
but it is a lovely time of the day
A lovely mare and not forget my little 9mth old
welsh collie Gwen enjoy are start to the day.

Rhys taking Lucy out to
the feild for me.
At the end of a long day.

Lucy Foaled on the 4/6/08

Well sooooo happy with my girls, they have
given me such lovely foals I cannot believe
how lucky we have been. This is the Filly foal to hopefully be named,
Bellvalley Sweet Pea
the very day she was born.

What lovely coloring this foal has,
and the stripping down her back
and even on her tail my boys said she sure to have zebra in her some where.......

24/06/08
Sweet Pea is nearly 3 weeks old
and I still cannot say what colour she will be, only that the lines show up even more!!!

Sp is so good looking she it's a treat to
waste time just looking at her ....
but when she moves you just know your
looking at some think special....
it just makes you suck your breath in!!

Lucy is very well bred mare Radical Rodder, Zippo Pine Bar to name a few of the greats in her pedigree.
The Sire is Codys Lucky Spark is a lovely Dun turning Grey stallion that was IMP by John and Griff at www.serenquarterhorses.co.uk or www.quarterhorseswales.co.uk

SP is really coming on nicely
considering the wet weather we have been having.Photo taken end July 08

PG is now shedding out to a lovely
Blue Roan.

One of the bonuses of having two foals born
together is the fun times they have and so lovely to see.

The end of Winter 2008 into 2009 Sweet pea now weaned with her
mate Gem.

The above photos taken early Spring,
and Sweet Pea is a real woolie bear.

One of the 1st days out of the new year
she is still got lots
of coat to come out but some nights it quite
cold but she sure glad to be out in the day.

Lucy 2007

Zippin Radical
Imported mare by the well known,
Sire Radical Rodder. Dam Zippin Naturally.
Thanks to Lucy, I am well and truly back in the saddle.
This lovely lovely mare
looked after me when I decided that I would like to go back to riding,
Which as some of us older mothers will know, can take a bit
of doing after having a family...........
(I'm sure with each child a bit more of your bravery levels go out with it!!)
I must admit here I have always been a big fan of the good old western films with all the great looking horses, and how they never run of when the
rider get put on the floor and as a kid I would have died and gone to heaven
if I could have got my hands on a western saddle.
So when I seen a article in the paper about
American Quarter Horses here in
west Wales, Well I was on the phone pretty quick..........
Thats how I meet Susan at Rockfield Quarter Horses. And that how our love of the AQH come about.

Lucy being shod, not much would upset this girl.
Quite happy just to stand all day if asked.

Lucy about 3 or 4 days before foaling.
She gave us the run around, we did think she would foal
this day we were up and down the field
like yo yos, and she'd look at us as if we were mad!!!!.

At last........I can sleep.....
The little madam try her best not to let us see
her baby born, Viv checked her at 10.00pm as we have done for the last
10 days, she must have got right down to it
after he left her, (we would check her again at 1.30am) it just so happen I was out that night, so looked in on her just gone 11.00 and she was just starting to lay down.
So at 23.30 hours all the family was there
to see Spirit come into this world.

"Ok mum nap time".

I think the last couple of photo show you
what a good honest horse Lucy is. She is a true family friend and sooooooooooo good looking. If Spirit turn out half as good
he will be such
a pleasure for anyone to own.

Here is Lucy boy at 5 and a bit mths old really pleased
with the way he as come on.

This is Lucy sire.
